WHY I THANK GOD FOR DAN BROWN
(AND YOU SHOULD TOO):
A Fresh Perspective on The Da Vinci Code
The bestselling novel (and now blockbuster movie) The Da Vinci Code has generated passionate interest – and
heated controversy. Author Dan Brown weaves a tale of conspiracy and cover-up with the early Church right in
the center, with unfamiliar scriptures and alternative histories challenging traditional orthodoxies. What is the
truth and why does it matter?
- Was Jesus married? If so, did he have children whose descendants include many of the crowned heads
of Europe?
- Who was Mary Magdalene? Was she a prostitute? Jesus’ wife? An “Apostle to the Apostles”? Was her
true standing and importance suppressed and diminished by later bishops determined to crush the voice
of women in the Church?
- What are the Gnostic gospels? Where did these and other alternative scriptures come from, who wrote
them, and what do they teach? Who excluded these books from our Bible and why?
- What are the key lessons Dan Brown can teach us?
- Why I thank God for Dan Brown and you should too …
