Pagan Christ?
Parallels between the Gospels and Pagan Mythology
and Their Significance
Readers of The Da Vinci Code learned what scholars have known for centuries: that significant – even
uncanny – parallels exist between the story of Jesus in the gospels and the great stories of Egyptian,
Greek, and Persian mythology. What do these parallels mean? Is Christianity not actually a new
religion at all, but a clever re-make of something much older? Or in Jesus, did myth become real
history? Join us as we uncover some surprising, fascinating, and perhaps unsettling answers!

C.S. Lewis' The Four Loves: A Study
An EmergentSpirit Saturday Seminar
C. S. Lewis is justly regarded as one of 20th century Christianity’s most respected and beloved writers.
From the rational apologetics of Mere Christianity to the imaginative fantasy of The Chronicles of
Narnia, this Oxford professor left us much to treasure. This EmergentSpirit Saturday Seminar focuses
on one of his lesser known works, The Four Loves – in the estimation of many, representative of his
most mature theological reflection. From the nature and types of human love, to the self-giving nature
of divine love, to the role of suffering in human growth, Lewis here is at his most profound. Join us as
we explore The Four Loves.
